In this intensive, Kyle and Melodie explore how West Coast Swing connects to Blues through rhythm, footwork, and figure choice.
You’ll learn how to recognize swung rhythm in Blues music and when to lean into that feeling in your dancing.
We’ll work through common syncopations and footwork variations that naturally match Blues music, along with classic pattern work that is suited for the genre.
Expect a mix of musical listening, rhythmic exploration, and practical pattern work you can bring straight to the social floor.

Dans cet atelier intensif, Kyle et Melodie explorent les liens entre le WCS et le Blues à travers le rythme, le jeu de jambes et le choix des figures.
Vous apprendrez à reconnaître le rythme swing dans la musique Blues et à vous laisser porter par cette sensation dans votre danse.
Nous travaillerons sur les syncopes courantes et les variations de jeu de jambes qui s'accordent naturellement avec la musique blues, ainsi que sur des figures classiques adaptées à ce genre musical.

Kyle FitzGerald and Melodie Paletta have been dancing together for two years, blending their distinct performance backgrounds into a powerful and dynamic partnership.
Kyle brings the refinement of ballroom, while Melodie contributes the expressive flair of musical theatre. Together, they create a style that is both technically precise and artistically compelling.
As US Open Classic Finalists, their individual accomplishments stand out. Kyle is the 2022 US Open Rising Star Champion, and Melodie is the 2019 US Open Young Adult Champion. Their partnership is rooted in excellence, and their passion for teaching is reflected in their workshops across Europe, the US, and Canada.
With over 15 years of combined teaching experience, Kyle and Melodie are known for their highly technical and precise instruction, making them a favorite among dancers who are serious about growth. Whether working with newcomers or seasoned competitors, they bring clarity, structure, and a touch of playfulness to every class.
Off the dance floor, Kyle is a history enthusiast and avid gamer, while Melodie is a trained singer with a love for storytelling. These personal passions bring depth and creativity to their dancing and teaching.
