It seems clearer now – In other words in the case of a student and a classroom Y-D is more about managing the classroom/learning environment (e.g. loud conversations, too cold temperature, uncomfortable shoes) as a whole with a student state (e.g. sad, tired, excited). Cognitive Load Theory is more about the management of the flow and size of new information that influences student learning ability.
I learned about a very similar(the same?) concept to "Cognitive Load Theory" named "the Yerkes–Dodson law" – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerkes%E2%80%93Dodson_law
Do you know if these concepts differ in any way?
These are related but not the same. Y-D is about arousal (stress/excitement), but Cognitive Load is strictly the piece about mental memory processing.
